I am asking you to oppose both HR 7661 and HR 2617. If you are on the House Education & Workforce Committee, I ask that you show up at the June 10th hearing ready to defend our students’ and educators’ access to books with a full spectrum of gender identities. Book bans are never a tool of democracy, and I ask you to support my friends, my family, and myself, who agree that gender essentialism is a tool of oppression, and should be opposed in all its forms.
