Protect Access to Mifepristone

To: Sen. Marshall, Rep. Schmidt, Sen. Moran

From: A verified voter in Neodesha, KS

May 9

I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to protect access to Mifepristone. Mifepristone is a safe, FDA-approved medication that has been used for over two decades as part of medication abortion care and miscarriage management. It is backed by extensive scientific research and has a strong safety record. Restricting access to this medication is not based in science—it is a political decision that puts people’s health and lives at risk. Access to mifepristone is essential, especially for those in rural communities like ours, where in-person care may already be limited. Medication abortion allows people to receive safe, effective care in the privacy of their own homes. It is also critical for treating miscarriages, meaning restrictions can impact people experiencing wanted pregnancies as well. Government interference in medical decisions undermines the patient-provider relationship and creates dangerous barriers to care. No one should be forced to travel long distances, delay care, or risk their health because of unnecessary restrictions. I urge you to: Publicly support continued access to Mifepristone Oppose any efforts to restrict its distribution, including limits on telehealth and mail delivery Advocate for policies that protect reproductive healthcare access at the state and federal levels As your constituent, I expect you to stand for evidence-based healthcare and the rights of individuals to make their own medical decisions. Thank you for your time and your service to our community.
