Ten Questions You as a Candidate in Minnesota Need To Answer About Trump’s Endorsement.
1) What specifically are you endorsing when you seek President Trump’s support: his policies, his character, or his conduct?
2) President Trump recently claimed he won Minnesota in 2016, 2020, and 2024 — despite official results showing he lost all three. Do you agree with him? If not, why haven’t you corrected the record?
3) If you are elected with President Trump’s endorsement, how will that make Minnesota a better state, not just for your supporters, but for all Minnesotans?
4) President Trump’s approval rating in Minnesota is at a record low — 39% approve, 59% disapprove. Why do you believe his personal endorsement helps your campaign more than simply supporting his policies?
5) Describe one policy position where you disagree with President Trump. Would you feel comfortable explaining your disagreement to him directly, and why or why not?
6) What do you say to conservative Minnesotans who feel politically homeless because of President Trump’s influence on the party?
7) Are you seeking President Trump’s endorsement because you believe it benefits Minnesota or because you fear the political cost of not having it?
8) President Trump recently described Alex Pretti as “perhaps, an insurrectionist” in a Truth Social post. Do you agree with that characterization? If not, will you say so publicly? If so, on what basis?
9) What role will President Trump have in your campaign: policy influencer, fundraising asset, rally headliner, or something else?
10) Republicans haven’t won a statewide race in Minnesota in nearly 20 years. Explain how being endorsed by President Trump helps you build the diverse coalition of voters needed for a Republican to win in November.
