Free Ayman Soliman

To: Sen. Moreno, Rep. Davidson, Sen. Husted

From: A verified voter in Cincinnati, OH

July 11

I am writing to ask you to facilitate the release of Ayman Soliman, chaplain and children’s hospital grief team member. Mr. Soliman was granted asylum, going through a lengthy and expensive process to be fully vetted by our government. Then, a month into the current administration, that asylum was revoked without reason or regard to the harm it would do to both Mr. Soliman and all the families that depend on him. For the past four years, Mr. Soliman has been part of the spiritual and grief care team at Children’s Hospital, serving children and families from our community and around the world with integrity, humility, and love. His presence has been a profound asset not only to our hospital, but to the broader community. Ayman faithfully accompanied families through some of their most painful moments. He lifted prayers of celebration as parents prepared to bring their babies home. He stood beside them as they held their child for the last time. Words can’t fully express the comfort and hope his presence brought in these agonizing moments. And now he can’t. Because we have an immigration system that punishes the vulnerable and preys on the innocent. I implore you to facilitate this man’s release. He has served our community faithfully and worked through our legal channels to gain citizenship, only to have all of that progress revoked without warrant.
