Hi, I am an elementary school educator, parent, and concerned citizen. I am deeply concerned about recent cuts to the US Department of Education. I have students who are in special education, and of my own children one had an IEP and one had a 504 plan, so I am especially concerned about funding and support for students with disabilities. I also teach in a Title I school, so I am concerned about funding and support for Title I programs. Title I is especially integral at our school for making sure every student learns to read. I am writing to urge you to do everything possible to make sure Oregon's public schools are adequately funded, and that special education and Title I programs are funded and supported. Thank you.
