VETO SB 63 - Stop the State Overreach on Local Elections

To: Rep. Tims, Gov. DeWine, Sen. Blackshear

From: A verified voter in Dayton, OH

February 26

I am writing to demand that you oppose the final passage of SB 63. This bill is a blatant power grab by state legislators that strips Ohio’s local communities of their 'Home Rule' authority. If the people of Cincinnati, Lakewood, or any other Ohio city decide that ranked choice voting (RCV) better serves their needs, that is their right under the Ohio Constitution. Banning this system statewide is not about 'integrity'; it is about political control. Historically, RCV in Ohio helped break the back of corrupt political machines and opened doors for minority representation. Don't let the state dictate how local neighbors choose their leaders. I urge you to stand up for local control and vote NO on the concurrence of SB 63, and I urge Governor DeWine to veto this overreach if it reaches his desk.
