Representative Mace's repeated and intentional use of an anti-transgender slur is unacceptable hate speech that has no place in civil discourse. By invoking this derogatory term four times during an event hosted by the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition, she actively promoted discrimination and hostility toward the transgender community. Such language dehumanizes and endangers an already vulnerable population facing disproportionate levels of violence and marginalization. Mace's actions are particularly egregious given her position as a federal legislator sworn to uphold the rights and dignity of all Americans.
