The SAVE Act
To: Rep. Stefanik
From: A constituent in Potsdam, NY
April 11, 2025
Representative Stefanik, with all due respect, I am disgusted by the approval of the SAVE act in the house of representatives. As a woman in politics, you know better. Your party can claim this is to help stop people who aren’t citizens from voting, but then why must American women need to provide documents with matching names? What will happen to married women, will their husbands get to decide for them? My own mother in Essex County was told she needed to change her name to her maiden name, so that her birth certificate matched and she could vote. This is absolutely shameful. History will remember you, and no amount of power hungry grifting or promotions will fill the dark void that is consuming you. I will be happily voting for Blake Gendebein when he runs for your seat. He is a local dairy farmer who grew up in upstate New York—the fact he actually knows this district means a lot to me. You do not represent my home and I am ashamed of you. You have the ability to do better and I doubt my words will change you. Why would you care after all, I’m one of your constituents and we clearly don’t matter to you. Have the day you deserve, Representatives Stefanik.
