I’m writing today out of growing frustration with the widening gap between public concern and political action.
Recently, Senator Mark Kelly posted on social media regarding the seriousness of threats to our democracy. While I appreciate the effort to engage constituents, commentary is not accountability. At some point, the posts must give way to action.
From efforts to erode birthright citizenship to apparent pay-to-pardon schemes involving convicted fraudsters and political donors, we are witnessing clear and present threats to the Constitution. These are not merely political scandals—they are warning signs of democratic decay.
Senator Kelly’s platform, like yours, carries influence beyond retweets. While only the House can initiate impeachment, and the Senate sits in judgment, both chambers can investigate, issue subpoenas, and pressure colleagues to act. The tools are there. The question is whether the will exists.
I urge you to rise above performance politics. Encourage House colleagues to consider impeachment where merited. Call for public hearings. Demand answers. The oath you took—to support and defend the Constitution—was not to perform, but to protect.
Now is not the time to post. Now is the time to lead.
