It is deeply alarming that Elon Musk's team has been granted access to the federal payment system responsible for trillions in government expenditures and containing sensitive personal data of hundreds of millions of Americans. Congress must urgently investigate why an unelected private individual is being allowed potentially unrestrained access to crucial systems like this, most recently the Small Business Administration's operations. Allowing Musk, who has displayed a pattern of overriding governance and proper oversight, to infiltrate core government functions poses an existential risk to data privacy, fiscal integrity, and public trust. Congress' apparent inaction is enabling this extreme overreach, jeopardizing programs that millions rely upon for their livelihoods. Forceful intervention is immediately needed to revoke Musk's access, audit any misuse that has already occurred, and reinstate rigorous safeguards preventing further exploitation of government systems and American citizens' private information by external actors lacking proper accountability.
