I’d like to thank you. For decades I’ve labored under a mistaken impression. You’ve cleared it up for me with an agonizing certainty. But I’d rather be painfully aware of the truth than comfortably inebriated with lies. I’m starting to realize that we, as a society are not up to the ideals set forth in the Declaration of Independence. We’ve asked too much of our country. You are helping me realize this depressing reality. I had hoped that we’d move beyond the bigotry and superstition that dominated the social and political world of my childhood but now I see that is not going to happen in my lifetime. Instead, I’m going to spend my last years watching the whiplash of the ignorant, corrupt and bigoted as they not only claw back all the advances of fairness and equality people like you kept from the oppressed. But you’re going to gut the constitutional system they used to make those gains and turn this country into a white supremacist, theocratic, kleptocracy. It no doubt will maintain the appearance of a democracy, but like Hungary and Russia, it will only be an apparition. If you really cared about the things you claim you’d stand up for them. But it’s obvious you don’t. At best, you sit by and do nothing while a corrupt, bigot and his kleptocrat benefactor destroy the infrastructure we the people use to advance or even maintain some semblance of balance between people pursing life liberty and happiness and the dark forces of greed, bigotry and ignorance. At worst, you’ve sided with the dark forces. And soothe yourself with comfortable lies about your victimhood at the hands of your victims. Times like these call for clarity and courage and you have neither. You’re just an empty suit stuffed with kleptocracy’s money. They say we the people are supposed to make a clear and concise ask of our “representatives” in these letters. Seems like a pointless exercise when you clearly only represent the kleptocrats. And we can’t outbid them. But here goes, again. Stand up against Trump and Musks unconstitutional and illegal power grab. Stand up for Congresses article 1 powers. Stand up for democracy and freedom here, in Ukraine and around the world.
