I’m writing because Democrats will soon be holding leadership elections. I want to make clear that I have no faith in Chuck Schumer / Hakeem Jeffries to do the jobs we need. There is so much talent in this caucus, and so many lawmakers who have shown they know how to fight, to message effectively, and to inspire their base. Schumer / Jeffries do none of these things. To the contrary, they are already talking about working across the aisle or “not wanting revenge.” We don't want revenge but we do want accountability and transformation. Schumer and Jeffries have not shown that they comprehend this. They are compromised by their "centrist" (actually rightist) stances. That angers me. We don’t want our leaders to work with fascists and we very much DO demand accountability.
