This unprecedented breach of security puts the personal information and privacy of millions of Americans at risk. The Treasury payment system handles trillions in government expenditures and contains sensitive data like Social Security numbers, tax records, and bank account details. Allowing Elon Musk's private company DOGE to infiltrate these critical systems is reckless and irresponsible. There are legitimate fears that this data could be exploited for personal gain, corporate interests, or foreign espionage. The risks of corruption, coercion, and misuse are simply too great. Musk has already demonstrated a cavalier attitude toward rules and institutions. No private entity should wield this level of power over the nation's finances and citizens' data without robust oversight and accountability. Immediate action must be taken to revoke DOGE's access and reinstate proper checks and balances to protect American democracy and citizens' rights.
