Have you EVER been to the Chiricahua National Monument? I think not. If you had been you would know the closest business or restaurant is an hour away. 35 miles of slow driving. We have been tent campers there for decades. Every couple of days we have to drive 70+ miles to get a new block of ice for our cooler. The habitable area of the park is very limited with one narrow road leading through the wonderland of rocks. This area has always called to us because of its secluded wilderness quality.
Your “success” to making the Chiricahuas a national park will kill it. It is a tragedy to this unique environment. We are extremely sad that you did this. There are lots of environmental threats to us in green Valley right now with an enormous copper open pit copper mines and two data Centers in our future. And now you go to a tiny unknown area in our once gorgeous wilderness and destroy it, too.
