How is it possibly allowable for our country to be spending $13.1 million dollars to paint the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool blue? Because of a presidential whim?! When he said it would cost $1.8 million and when there were no bids for the contract?! Such money needs to be either a) preferably unspent, because what a waste, or b) only spent after public bids to achieve a transparent and cost-effective deal: we need to stop lining whoever's pockets are bulging from decisions like this. We as a nation are/should be/MUST BE better than this. Please investigate Atlantic Industrial Coatings, who apparently got this "job."
