I’m writing to ask you to please intervene to save America’s doomsday seed vault. The budget for this seed vault is shockingly low given the value to the US in preserving seed stocks. These seed stocks are intended to be a back up in case we have a catastrophic failure in the agricultural system. It appears that the blanket approach of targeting anything with the word diversity in it led to this seed bank being chosen for destruction. This has serious implications for the safety of American agriculture. As you represent the state of Ohio, an important agricultural producer, this should be high on your list to protect. Please do what you can to reverse this and ensure the maintenance of this seed vault. Once it is destroyed, it will be next to impossible to re-create.
