March 26

Democrats have introduced legislation to end construction on any new data centers until federal AI regulations are in place. These big tech companies are not paying for their own energy infrastructure. While the American people's energy bills are skyrocketing in order to pay for A.I. data centers, big tech continues to demand more. More data centers, more energy, more data collection, more American jobs replaced by A.I. — all at the expense of the American people. We are in a water crisis, energy crisis, and a heat crisis in many parts of the country, the benefits of A.I. have not been thoroughly established to be worth the cost to the American people, and the federal government hasn't done the work to protect the people from the tech companies. I call on Congress to support this bill and block new data centers until more regulations have been established.
