Ballroom is NOT a necessity. The east wing was destroyed illegally. Private funds to build a ballroom is a fantasy AND illegal. And I’d highly recommend that YOU not vote to provide TAXPAYER dollars for this silly ballroom. Historical perspective – President Reagan was SHOT in front of this same hotel. Yet, he somehow managed to return to the hotel just six months after being shot and the secret service was well prepared to protect him with increased security. He even joked about being shot and did not demand some ballroom at the White House – he kept his public schedule and appeared many places. If any president needed to stay close to the WH it was Pres Reagan – he was nearly killed. President Obama experienced at least eleven assassination plots or actual attempts including several bullets fired at AND striking the residence AT THE WHITE HOUSE. Yet, he didn’t call for a ballroom to stay at home and host parties. He also continued to keep his public schedule and the secret service accommodated the protection needed. And, not to forget, President Zelensky has managed to survive in a literal war where he’s in the warzone with no ballroom! Remember, he wanted ammo – not a ride! So – why demand a ballroom NOW? Is secret service so inept that they cannot provide protection? Or is the president simply using this ‘event’ to demand what he wants, illegal as it is? Build the underground facility as the courts have allowed, but NOTHING need to occur above ground UNTIL and UNLESS debate occurs and congressional approval along with appropriate historical review to APPROVE such construction. What is your position on the above and what do you plan to do? I’d like to know.
