I strongly urge you to reject SB 3283, the “Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025”. Diversity of origin is one thing that makes America great - let’s not forget that anyone who is not a Native American is here by way of immigration! Keeping dual citizenship improves the reputation of the US and allows for strong ties between countries. Passing this bill will also likely lead to a reduction in tax income as dual citizens living abroad are more likely to renounce their US citizenship and stop paying US taxes. This bill is shortsighted, xenophobic, and has no place in the modern USA. Please oppose its passage on behalf of your constituents.
