Demand Prominent Placement of Plaque Honoring January 6th Police Officers
To: Rep. Stefanik
From: A constituent in Fort Edward, NY
March 12
I'm calling on you to ensure that a plaque recognizing the courage and heroism of police officers on January 6th is placed prominently where it will be seen and remembered. These officers defended our Capitol and our democracy under extraordinary circumstances. They deserve recognition that matches the magnitude of what they faced that day.
The officers who held the line on January 6th showed exceptional bravery. They were outnumbered, assaulted, and put their lives on the line to protect members of Congress and preserve the constitutional process. Many suffered serious injuries, and some continue to deal with the physical and psychological aftermath. A prominent plaque isn't just symbolic—it's a statement about what we value and who we honor.
This recognition should be visible and accessible to the public, not tucked away where few will see it. Make this happen now.
