An Open Letter
To: Pres. Biden
From: A verified voter in Vancouver, WA
August 28
WRITE I write today with a heart burdened by frustration and a plea for immediate action. The world can no longer afford to sit idly by as innocent lives continue to be lost, children orphaned, and whole civilizations shattered due to the devastating consequences of the ongoing conflicts. This letter might come from an ordinary man, but its pain, sorrow, and demand for immediate change reflect the sentiments of millions worldwide.
Our dollars, unquestionably a representation of our collective will, are currently fueling an unjust onslaught against Palestinian civilians. Billions of taxpayers' hard-earned money, rather than contributing to compassionate causes, are instead being utilized to fund Israel's aggressive actions against Palestinian civilians. This cannot be justified under the banner of politics or strategic alliances. Human life, each one carrying with it unimaginable potential, is being traded off for arms that continue to perpetuate violence, hatred, and loss. We demand this funding stop.
Enough is enough. It is high time that we address this cycle of violence and strive towards institutionalizing peace. This isn't about taking sides; it's about embracing our collective humanity and standing against crimes that sully its very essence. There can be no excuse for ignoring the sufferings of innocent people caught in the crossfire. It is our duty, as a global community, to demand justice. Until then, every bullet fired, every home destroyed, and every life lost, a portion of the responsibility falls onto each one of us.
