Call to reject SB 201

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet

From: A constituent in Denver, CO

April 1

I'm very concerned about the pushing through of Senate Bill 201 and I urge you and your colleagues to reject SB 201. If sites that are meant to collect ID and user data on this level, such as tax or identity protection sites, can be hacked, it stands to reason that sites meant for entertainment can absolutely not handle the protection required to keep users safe. Additionally, there is little to no reason to tie government-issued IDs to any kind of entertainment, regardless of whether it's adult in nature or not. The push to tie legal names and identification requirements to entertainment, in the light of our nation's embrace of a fascist state, should send up alarm bells. The precedence of this could easily be used to target our already at-risk communities such as those of color or those of an LGBTQ nature. I vehemently oppose SB 201 and strongly implore you to as well.
