**Move the Election Assistance Commission Under Congressional Control**
The Election Assistance Commission needs to be moved out of the Executive Branch and placed under direct Congressional oversight. An agency responsible for certifying voting systems and distributing election security funds should not be subject to presidential influence — it should answer to the legislative body that represents the American people.
Right now, the EAC's independence is structurally fragile. Executive Branch pressure, whether through budget control or appointee leverage, creates a real conflict of interest for an agency whose entire purpose is to safeguard the integrity of federal elections. Congressional control would insulate the EAC from partisan interference at the top of the executive ladder and give lawmakers direct accountability over how election standards are set and enforced.
Please introduce or co-sponsor legislation to restructure the EAC as a Congressional agency. Elections belong to the people and their representatives — not to whoever holds the White House.
