Oppose raising H1B visa costs

To: Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted, Rep. Davidson

From: A constituent in Middletown, OH

October 9

Please oppose the EO raising the H1B visa costs to $100,000. The cost is unreasonable for the majority of employers to pay. Increasing the cost of visas will limit universities, medical centers and hospitals, and STEM employers from hiring the most qualified individuals. International talent will go to other countries, and those businesses and governments (including the military) will thrive. In the long term, our medical and scientific innovation will be stunted and we will lose out. If the goal is to push for American citizens into these jobs, then stop attacking education and research funding. We currently don’t have the work force to fill these highly skilled jobs and it will only get worse without support of educational opportunities.
