“House Republican leaders ditch vote on ACA funding, all but ensuring premiums will rise” That’s the headline today. I am in education and our private healthcare rates are expected to go up by 15%. What about business owners just trying to get by while also paying their employees a livable wage in this unstable economy? What about those with chronic conditions that will worsen without health care?! And may have to decline ACA coverage for 2026 because the monthly premium would be nearly half their take-home pay? A serious illness or accident would ruin these Americans. Thanks to this constant sabotage by Republican leaders and those who follow them, many Americans will have to roll the dice. Many republicans over years have been trying to kill the Affordable Care Act’s provisions since it became law. And repeatedly claim to have a replacement, but never do. It is time to come up with a plan because the entire system is about to come crashing down and it’s all the republican party’s fault. Americans are on to the “healthcare plan” farce - they know it is a scam to keep the masses sick, poor, and uneducated so they will fall for the propaganda and keep voting for their own demise. What happened to the United States? When we had leaders who wanted better for their people? To be educated so they wouldn’t fall for the Soviet Union’s propaganda during the Cold War? What happened to wanting to provide education to the citizenry- as our education is one of the ways that America was already great and the envy of the world? Our progress, our ingenuity, our strong work ethic, and our democracy? That’s what makes America great. We should provide healthcare to all Americans as a right and not as privilege!
