Demand for Immediate War Powers Resolution and Oversight of Executive Overreach
To: Sen. Moreno, Rep. Beatty, Sen. Husted
From: A verified voter in Columbus, OH
February 28
I am writing to you today as your constituent to express my absolute outrage regarding the unilateral launch of "Operation Epic Fury" against Iran. This administration has bypassed Congress, violated the War Powers Resolution, and ignored the U.S. Constitution in a move that can only be described as a reckless thirst for regional dominance.
President Trump campaigned on a promise to end "forever wars" and bring our troops home. Instead, he has launched a massive, unprovoked combat operation that is already resulting in the deaths of civilians—including reports of children killed in schools—and has placed our service members in immediate, grave danger across the Middle East.
This administration is treating world politics like a game, disregarding the weight of human life and the laws of this country. Furthermore, the timing of this escalation is deeply suspicious. Following the recent revelations that the DOJ withheld critical information from the Epstein files involving the President, this war appears to be a transparent and cynical attempt to distract the American public from domestic scandal.
As my representative, I demand that you:
1.. Introduce or co-sponsor an immediate War Powers Resolution to force the cessation of all offensive operations in Iran.
2.. Publicly condemn the administration’s failure to consult Congress, asserting that only the legislative branch has the power to declare war.
3.. Investigate the Department of Justice regarding the withholding of the Epstein files to ensure the President is not using the U.S. military as a shield for personal legal troubles.
The American people are tired of "army" games played by leaders who suffer none of the consequences. We demand accountability, and we demand an end to this illegal war now.
