I am writing to urge you to immediately move forward with impeachment proceedings against Kristi Noem, the 8th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Her tenure has been marked by gross incompetence, corruption, and systematic human rights violations that endanger everyone living in the United States. Under Secretary Noem's leadership, ICE has conducted raids that have terrorized communities and separated families, resulting in multiple deaths. DHS has targeted and detained verified US citizens, with some being deported without due process. This represents a fundamental violation of constitutional rights and basic legal principles that should alarm every member of Congress regardless of party affiliation. The conditions faced by ICE detainees have deteriorated to unconscionable levels. Detained individuals have experienced sexual assault and medical negligence while in federal custody. Thousands of detained people have gone missing from the system entirely, with no accountability or explanation. These are not isolated incidents but patterns of systemic abuse occurring under federal authority. Secretary Noem has also directed the use of US military forces against protestors exercising their First Amendment rights. Most egregiously, she celebrated an ICE agent's murder of Renee Good as self defense, despite video evidence reportedly showing Good's innocence. This celebration of extrajudicial killing by a cabinet secretary represents a dangerous embrace of violence that has no place in American governance. Secretary Noem lacks the qualifications and judgment necessary to lead DHS. Her actions have made our communities less safe, not more secure. The Constitution provides impeachment as a remedy for officials who abuse their power and violate their oath of office. I am asking you to support articles of impeachment against Secretary Noem and to speak publicly about the urgent need to remove her from office. The safety and constitutional rights of your constituents depend on immediate congressional action.
