I'm writing to urge you to treat the AI crisis with real urgency instead of half-measures. I ask that you: -Support the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act to pause advanced development until federal safety regulations are in place, (and) -Support H.R. 9917, the AI Kill Switch Act, to ensure that AI companies are able to reign in their own technology in an emergency, -Demand AI oversight that addresses data centers' land, water, and energy footprint, -Push for a dedicated, bipartisan congressional committee on AI, regardless of which party controls the House, -Demand transparency into the Trump administration's AI-related dealings with China, -Hold hearings on AI companies' own admissions that their systems have escaped intended safeguards.
