Please push for legislation to curb the rapid advancement of AI. It’s dangerous and could lead to an AI takeover where humans literally lose control of our society. This could include AI taking over control of drones, missiles, and even nuclear weapons. We know that AI agents often cheat or follow a different path than was intended by the humans they work with. For example, imagine if they were told “solve global warming” and they know the fastest way to do that is to kill the humans. This reads like science fiction but it isn’t. We need limits on compute that are a part of international treaties. Please treat compute like it’s fissile material and regulate accordingly. There is no time to waste; AI is getting exponentially more powerful every day.
