From democracy to dementia

To: Rep. Begich, Sen. Sullivan, Sen. Murkowski

From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK

January 22

Another debacle on the world stage as Trump takes the podium at Davos. Another attempt by the press secretary to assure us that he didn't misspeak about anything - just that literally everyone else misunderstood. This is where malignant narcissism meets advanced dementia. Trump pushes over the line. You do nothing about his repulsive threats and attacks. But the world is pushing back. Mark Carney, as a capable world leader, has laid it out articulately. Writing to you over several years begging you to do your job, asking you to save our republic from a madman, has always fallen on deaf ears. But the damage of 2025/2026 will never be repaired. All because stroking Trump's ego was more important to you than any other priority. Yet you keep on patting yourselves on the back as you work on this bill or that, none of which matters as we descend into chaos. I cannot imagine how three purportedly reasonable adults could be so cowardly. I suspect the answer to that question is yet to be revealed. But understanding your betrayal of the Constitution and your constituents will accomplish nothing, but to add three of Alaska's names to the epitaph of the United States of America.
