Beyond the economic consequences, these actions are eroding American credibility abroad. Our allies no longer see us as a reliable trade partner, and our adversaries are capitalizing on our internal divisions. The damage being done to our international standing is not theoretical—it is real, measurable, and dangerous. I want to be absolutely clear: as an independent voter, I am watching closely. I will not support any elected official who fails to take a strong, unequivocal stand against Trump’s reckless trade policies. If you value the future of our economy and America’s global reputation, then please act—pass binding legislation that reasserts congressional authority over trade and reins in this abuse of power. This issue is not about partisanship; it’s about protecting American jobs, American leadership, and the rule of law.
