I wanted to let you know of my own stands on several issues that have emerged under this current President's administration:
1) I understand that this president says and does asinine things in order to scare people into bargaining positions. Please make it known to himself and his cabinet that these are embarrassing traits for the leadership of what used to be a respected country. This taxpayer does not want our government to take any action or make any asinine declarations about "taking" any other countries or the Gaza territory.
2) Please work toward restoring foreign aid across the world
3) I have been paying taxes and Social Security since I washed my first dishes in a bar in Pennsylvania. Please defend our Social Security system and our future chance of a decent retirement.
4) I have lived in two other countries that have socialized medicine, and in both cases I had better health care and more affordable than here in the US. Please take action to place price caps on services and drugs. No, the industry does not charge more because the research is that expensive. That also is a business. I have friends in other parts of the world doing research and they are not paid like primadonnas. They actually want to help people.
5) Please put an end to fees on the use of credit cards. It is in everyone’s interest to digitize currency, even eliminating paper currency. Card companies should be able to make enough profit on the margins.
6) One of the first programs in this country to be established was the library system. Please support it. We need an educated electorate.
7) Please support NPR and National Parks, and reinstate budgets and employees.
