I’m writing to urge you to vote NO on H.R. 1. This bill proposes deep cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, which will directly threaten access to health care for millions—especially seniors, low-income families, and people with disabilities. These cuts won’t just hurt individuals—they will force hospitals, rural clinics, and long-term care facilities to close, especially in under-resourced areas of Texas. That means fewer doctors, longer travel times for patients, and lost jobs in our communities. Medicare and Medicaid are lifelines. Weakening them will increase long-term costs, harm public health, and destabilize care systems across the country. Please protect health care for Texans and oppose H.R. 1.
