Please reread your own Executive Order, “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship,” which you signed on January 20, 2025. It says, “It is the policy of the United States to: (a) secure the right of the American people to engage in constitutionally protected speech; (b) ensure that no Federal Government officer, employee, or agent engages in or facilitates any conduct that would unconstitutionally abridge the free speech of any American citizen.” (You will note that it makes no reference to TV ratings.) Please bring this Executive Order to the attention of your FCC chair and instruct him to rescind his threats regarding Jimmy Kimmel and not to do it again. You could also fire him; that might be best.
