Senator Cory Booker & Senator Alex Padilla have introduced the “Visible Act”. This bill requires ICE agents to wear identifiable badges & conduct their duties unmasked.
Police officers, state patrol, Park and conservation officers all wear a badge and their name is clearly visible on their uniform. Even those in the military are easily identified by name. None of the persons, working in these positions, wear a mask!
It is vitally important that those in employment of the government, assigned to ensure that laws are obeyed, are identifiable. It appears that persons are being kidnapped off the streets in the US. They use force and are armed. They trespass into homes, private property, and workplaces, without warrants. They do not follow the laws set forth in the Constitution.
Many of those “kidnapped” are legal residents and have a “green card”. Some have actually been US citizens, but because they have dark skin or may speak another language, they were detained for lengthy periods of time, with their legal rights denied. Some were here, legally, on a visitor visa.
I urge you to vote NO on this bill and to take action to make ICE comply with ALL laws/rules, to be identifiable, and to treat detainees humanely.
