As your Oregon constituent, I'm writing to urge your support for the Stop Corporate Takeovers of Physicians Act, which you helped introduce alongside Senator Warren and Representatives Hoyle, Subramanyam, and Ocasio-Cortez. Over 80% of U.S. doctors now work for corporate entities—up from 62% in 2019. Despite Oregon's prohibitions on corporate practice of medicine, private equity firms and insurers exploit loopholes through management services organizations that gradually seize control over clinical decisions, staffing, and patient care. This bill closes those loopholes and ensures health care decisions stay in physicians' hands—not corporations'.
