Your Silence While Taxpayer Dollars Are Wasted Will Cost You Reelection
To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley
From: A verified voter in Kansas City, MO
May 15
I am writing to ask why you are not standing up for your constituents while Donald Trump continues wasting taxpayer dollars on frivolous lawsuits, political retaliation, and vanity projects that do nothing to improve the lives of everyday Americans.
Families in this district are struggling with rising costs, healthcare concerns, housing affordability, and economic uncertainty. Instead of addressing those issues, Congress continues enabling endless political chaos and reckless spending that serves one man’s ego instead of the public interest.
Your job is not to protect Donald Trump from consequences or defend wasteful behavior. Your job is to represent the people who elected you and ensure taxpayer money is being used responsibly. Silence and inaction send the message that you care more about political loyalty than about the needs of your constituents.
Many voters are paying attention to who is willing to speak up and who is choosing to stay quiet. If you continue refusing to hold Trump accountable and continue ignoring the concerns of the people you represent, you should not expect support at reelection time.
I urge you to start putting your constituents before party politics and demand accountability, transparency, and responsible use of taxpayer funds.
