I am writing to express my profound disgust and frustration with your inability to pass meaningful legislation that would protect our children from the senseless violence happening in schools across this country. The inaction and political gridlock surrounding gun violence has reached an unconscionable level, and our children are paying the ultimate price.
It is beyond comprehension that in a nation as developed and powerful as ours, we cannot even guarantee the safety of our most vulnerable citizens. How many more children have to be slaughtered before you act? How many more families have to be torn apart? The constant excuses and empty promises are no longer acceptable.
I urge you to prioritize the lives of our children over political interests and immediately take bold, decisive action to address the epidemic of gun violence in our schools. Anything less is a failure of leadership and a betrayal of the public trust.
Our children deserve better, and so do we.
