Immediately Address the Treatment of Representative Nicole Collier

To: Gov. Abbott, Sen. Schwertner, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Harris Davila

From: A constituent in Leander, TX

August 19, 2025

I am writing to you out of serious concern regarding the treatment of Representative Nicole Collier. Her service to the people of Texas has been marked by professionalism, dedication, and integrity. Any action, conduct, or rhetoric that seeks to diminish her standing or obstruct her work in the Legislature is wholly unacceptable. The Texas House and Senate are institutions built on respect, fairness, and equal representation. When one of your colleagues is subjected to inappropriate treatment—whether through harassment, targeted hostility, or attempts to silence their voice—it undermines not only the individual, but also the integrity of the legislative process itself. It is imperative that you, as a lawmaker, speak publicly and unequivocally against such treatment. Silence or inaction in this matter signals tolerance for behavior that threatens democratic governance and the basic standards of professional conduct expected within the Capitol. Representative Collier deserves the same level of dignity and respect afforded to every member, regardless of political differences. I urge you to take a clear and immediate stand, both to defend Representative Collier and to uphold the credibility of the Legislature. Texans must have confidence that their elected officials are able to serve without fear of intimidation or mistreatment. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust you will act in defense of Representative Collier and the standards of fairness and respect that Texans rightfully expect from their leaders.
