Pass Erin’s Law Today

To: Gov. Kelly, Sen. Corson, Rep. Stogsdill

From: A constituent in Prairie Village, KS

January 26

Kansas has a responsibility to protect children by ensuring they receive age-appropriate education on recognizing, preventing, and reporting sexual abuse. Erin’s Law provides a proven framework that empowers students with knowledge, trains educators to respond appropriately, and strengthens early intervention—without stigmatizing or politicizing classrooms. Child sexual abuse is widespread and often goes unreported. Education is one of the most effective prevention tools we have. States that have adopted Erin’s Law have improved awareness, earlier reporting, and better coordination between schools and support services. Passing Erin’s Law would demonstrate a clear commitment to child safety, accountability, and prevention. It supports families, equips schools, and helps stop abuse before it causes lifelong harm. I urge you to pass Erin’s Law and make protecting Kansas children a priority.
