Sanction Israel to end starvation campaign in Gaza
To: V.P. Harris

The situation in Gaza is dire, with the UN expert describing Israel's actions as an "intentional and targeted starvation campaign" that is killing more Palestinians than bombs and bullets. According to the report, 34 Palestinians, mostly children, have starved to death since the war began in October. Israel's destruction of Gaza's food system and severe restrictions on humanitarian aid have made the entire population dependent on external assistance, which Israel then uses as a political and military weapon. This deliberate policy of starvation predates the current conflict, as Israel has been destroying the Palestinian food system for over 70 years through measures like seizing agricultural land and harassing farmers and fishermen. The only way to alleviate this man-made famine is to impose economic, political and cultural sanctions on Israel. We cannot continue providing weapons and military aid that enable such inhumane policies. Starving civilians, especially children, is a grave violation of international law and cannot be tolerated. Israel must immediately lift the blockade, allow unfettered humanitarian access, and be held accountable for these unconscionable acts that are inflicting immense suffering on the people of Gaza. Continuing military support only perpetuates this cycle of violence and starvation.
