Please don’t support any legislation pertaining to the restriction or infringement of our second amendment rights. I’m a NJ Democrat, a husband, a homeowner, a gun owner, and I proudly have my CCW permit to carry a handgun. And I’m quite tired of the constant anti-2A legislation and stance put forth by the Democrat party. It needs to stop. When the party pushes anti-2A rhetoric, they lose any ground they could gain from conservatives as well as upsetting the gun owners in their own party. And YES, we exist! Anti 2A legislation is counterproductive to any greater influence the Democrat party could otherwise have. Keep in mind that guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Or better yet, statistically speaking, “Guns don’t kill people, Republicans do!” So, my advice? Stop alienating a portion of your own party and instead become advocates for gun rights and gun safety. Their ownership and use are a constitutional right and challenging that only makes the party look bad. After all, more and more Democrats are getting into firearms and it would behoove the party to recognize this for the future of the party and those who currently lean left or who might be, as they say. So in closing, stop being the anti-2A party. Support our second amendment rights. Learn about safe gun ownership and use, and stop shooting us all in the proverbial foot.
