Crypto, AI, machine learning, robotics, and other new technologies need congressional understanding and oversight. Additionally, cyber threats are a bigger problem every year, and the government does not have the information necessary to combat the rise. Congress should bring back the Office of Technology Assessment (OTA) to provide a sustained and systematic approach to informing public policy on new technologies. It's more important now than ever that legislators have good, well-researched information about cutting edge technologies. Please support reinstating the Office of Technology Assessment or some similar Congressional office.
