The blockade of Gaza by Israeli forces has reached an unconscionable level, amounting to extermination and potential genocide according to Human Rights Watch. Gaza is facing one of the world's worst hunger crises, with reports of at least 57 children having died from malnutrition since the blockade began. This collective punishment of civilians is unacceptable and must end immediately. Countries like the US, UK, France, and Germany have a legal obligation under the Genocide Convention to take preventive action, such as ending weapons sales, military assistance, and diplomatic support to Israel until the blockade is fully lifted. Failing to act in the face of this humanitarian catastrophe would be a dereliction of duty. The world cannot stand idly by as an entire population is systematically starved and Gaza rendered uninhabitable. Decisive action is needed now to avert further tragedy and loss of innocent lives.
