Uphold checks and balances, protect citizens' data integrity

To: Sen. Booker, Rep. Norcross, Sen. Kim

From: A constituent in Woodbury, NJ

February 2

The president's sweeping changes at federal agencies like the Office of Personnel Management are raising serious concerns about oversight, cybersecurity risks, and the proper separation of powers. Allowing political appointees unfettered access to highly sensitive data systems containing personal information on millions of government employees is alarming. There are processes and protocols in place to safeguard this information for good reason. Circumventing long-standing procedures undermines institutional integrity and public trust in the federal workforce. Maintaining proper checks and balances is critical to upholding democratic principles. I urge you to exercise your constitutionally mandated oversight role to ensure the administration follows established procedures for implementing policy changes through legitimate channels with adequate congressional review. Protecting citizens' data and preserving government integrity must be prioritized over partisan objectives.
