The illegal deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia
To: Gov. Kelly
From: A constituent in Olathe, KS
April 14
We have someone taken from our soil and sent to El Salvador, likely to die (if not already dead). A president who uses any slip in language to ignore the Supreme Court. And lastly representatives who don't seem to care.
I am a veteran of the United States Military (13 years Air Force Intelligence). I did not take that oath so that I could watch mealy mouthed politicians ignore the constitution.
That paper is clear that ANY HUMAN UNDER OUR JURISDICTION IS AFFORDED DUE PROCESS. Is even explicitly states BEFORE they are deprived of any life, liberty, or property.
I don't want to ring any alarm bells here, but if we tout certain parts of the constitution as sacrosanct but ignore others, we are selfish, we lack compassion, and we are not good human beings. I count you in that group right now until I hear one of you cowards speak up to the orange man. How will you protect the people in Kansas if Trump can simply ignore you and start grabbing people off our streets?
Here's the precedent that allows the aforementioned in case you don't want to do your own research: https://tile.loc.gov/storage-services/service/ll/usrep/usrep118/usrep118356/usrep118356.pdf
Voters are watching and tides can shift surprisingly fast, even in Kansas.
