I’m alarmed to learn that a trio of discriminatory anti-trans bills are currently being considered in committee at the state House. These bills, HB4024, a discriminatory bathroom ban; HB4031, a discriminatory sports ban based on an incorrect understanding of biology; and HB4066, a discriminatory sports ban that will certainly encourage students to falsely accuse other student-athletes of being transgender to subject them to intrusive and unwarranted medical examination (and protects them for doing so!) have nothing to do with student health or safety, and everything to do with scapegoating a vulnerable minority to satisfy the bigotry of some of the worst people in Michigan. I am pleased to see that you are not listed among the sponsors of these vile and hateful bills. I hope this means we can count on you to courageously stand up against the bigots and keep Michigan safe for _all_ Michiganders—even members of a vulnerable minority that certain hateful people would like to make the target for legalized harassment and persecution. Thank you.
