While public outrage and federal courts forced a temporary retreat on the $1.8 billion political payoff slush fund, the most dangerous part of this corrupt Department of Justice settlement is still completely intact: permanent tax immunity for the President. Behind closed doors, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche executed a sweeping agreement that grants the President, his family, and his business empire a lifetime shield from IRS audits for past filings. While Blanche verbally claimed to Congress that the $1.8 billion fund is dead, he continues to refuse to put that cancellation in writing; and, more importantly, he has refused to rescind this unconstitutional immunity clause. This is not a past issue; it is an active, ongoing protection racket. By leaving this clause in place, the Justice Department is blocking the IRS from pursuing a reported $100 million in known outstanding tax obligations. If an ordinary American citizen manufactured a lawsuit to escape a tax audit, they would face swift penalties and potential jail time. Instead, our system of checks and balances is being dismantled from within so the head of the executive branch never has to face financial accountability. Left, right, or independent—no American should tolerate a two-tiered justice system that immunizes the powerful while auditing the working class. As my representative, I urge you to defend the rule of law and take immediate action: - Kill the Immunity Clause: Vote for any and all legislative amendments to upcoming agency funding bills that explicitly defund and strip away this corrupt tax immunity framework. - Support the BLANCHE Act: Co-sponsor and vote for Rep. Jamie Raskin’s Block Lawless Agreements and Nullify Corrupt Handouts and Emoluments (BLANCHE) Act. This is the only way to permanently stop a sitting president from using collusive federal settlements to shield themselves from IRS accountability. - Speak Out Publicly: Use your platform to openly condemn this executive malfeasance.
