Please stop trying to fix up Washington, DC
To: Pres. Trump
From: A constituent in Miccosukee Cpo, FL
August 3
Please stop trying to fix up Washington, DC. You are making a mess of it, and it is costing a fortune. No one is asking you for a ballroom. No one is asking for an arch. No one wanted a no-bid renovation to the reflecting pool by your donor buddy. No one wants all the statues gilded other than you.
Many people, myself included, are having financial problems and it infuriates us to see you wasting money on frivolities and appearances.
There are a lot of problems in this country, including a war with Iran that you started. People are dying, our citizens and people in the Middle East. Keeping up appearances is the least of our problems. Most of us are not that superficial.
You are spending our taxpayer dollars like a profligate while Food Stamps and Medicaid are being taken from people who need it.
