Vote no on the Congressional Appropriations Bill. This is the bill put forth to fund the government, but it is much more than that. It is filled with anti transgender and anti LGBTQ+ provisions at every tier of the legislation. If passed as written, this bill would remove all federal healthcare assistance for transgender people of ANY age, even extending as far as behavioral and social care. It would immediately strip Medicaid and Medicare from trans people of any age and it could threaten any hospital providing care with the loss of federal funds. The bill also carries a nationwide sports ban, removes protections for LGBTQ+ foster children and goes so far as to even ban Pride flags. It goes without saying how devastating this would be to the lives of thousands of trans and LGBTQ+ Americans. It literally means life or death to transgender people. I am urging you to vote NO on this Appropriations Bill unless these devastating and discriminatory provisions are removed.
